Who is Bhai kanhaiya ji ?

Bhai kanhaiya ji

Bhai Kanhaiya Ji, also known as Bhai Kanhaiya Singh, was a Sikh sevadar (volunteer) and disciple of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru. He was born in Sodhara near Wazirabad in present-day Pakistan in 1648.

Bhai Kanhaiya Ji is famous for his selfless service to the wounded soldiers during the Battle of Anandpur Sahib in 1704. He served water to the wounded soldiers, regardless of whether they were Sikh soldiers or those from the opposing side. His actions were initially misunderstood by some of the Sikh soldiers, who thought he was helping the enemy, but Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained that Bhai Kanhaiya Ji's actions were based on the Sikh principle of serving all humanity without discrimination.

Bhai Kanhaiya Ji later established a camp to provide medical care and water to soldiers during the battles that followed, and he became known for his service to all, regardless of their background or beliefs. He also established a Sikh sangat (congregation) at Sodhara, his birthplace.

Bhai Kanhaiya Ji is remembered as an exemplar of the Sikh concept of seva (selfless service) and is honored by Sikhs around the world.
